Q 1. Do I need a visa to come to Nepal?
Yes! Most of you will need a visa in your passport by the time you arrive in Nepal. (The major exception is for Indians.)
For more information about Nepal's visa requirements ask at your local consulate.
Q 2. What will the weather be like in Kathmandu?
August-September in Kathmandu is almost the end of rainy season. Average temperatures in August-September range from +15ºC to +25ºC during the day. However, it may rain occasionally. So, a rain coat or an umbrella will work.
Of course, if you want to go for a trekking higher up, you will need some warm clothes.
Q 3. What about my stay?
The cost of Accommodation during the meet is included in the registration fee.
However, it doesn’t cover the cost of accommodation if you stay longer than the program schedule.
Q 4. I'm not studying medicine, can I come?
Absolutely!
IPPNW has always been inclusive not only for the Health Science students but also all others interested in social issues. So, if you are interested in small arms disarmament and want to make a difference, you're very welcome at the conference, notwithstanding your field of study.
Q 5. I'm not from Asia, can I come?
Absolutely!
We believe the Conference is a great chance to discuss the issues affecting our region, but we will be more than happy to meet like-minded students to get to know each other and build friendships and networks both in the continent and around the world. So, come and join us!
Q 6. Can I arrive a few days before the Conference, or stay a few days after?
Absolutely! You may arrive before the Conference or stay as long as you wish after the Conference. However, please mention it in the respective section in the registration form.
Q 7. Do I need to bring anything special?
If there's something that you think is relevant to the theme or could be of interest for other participants, you may bring it along!
